Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Flatbed Tow Truck Operator to support vehicle transportation and recovery operations in the Los Angeles area.
This is a hands-on driving position responsible for safely recovering, loading, transporting, and unloading vehicles using flatbed or rollback towing equipment. The ideal candidate has previous towing, roadside recovery, or vehicle transport experience and a strong commitment to safe driving and equipment operation.
Responsibilities
Operate flatbed or rollback towing equipment for vehicle transport and recovery.
Safely load, secure, transport, and unload vehicles.
Respond to scheduled and time-sensitive vehicle recovery assignments.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
Follow applicable DOT requirements and established safety procedures.
Maintain required transportation, inspection, and operational documentation.
Communicate with dispatch, logistics teams, and field personnel regarding assignments and vehicle status.
Assess roadside recovery situations and determine safe loading and transportation procedures.
Report equipment, mechanical, or safety concerns promptly.
Adapt to changing assignments, traffic conditions, weather, and operational needs.
Maintain a professional and safety-focused approach throughout each assignment.
Qualifications
Previous experience operating a flatbed or rollback tow truck is strongly preferred.
Experience with vehicle recovery, roadside assistance, or vehicle transportation.
Valid Class C driver's license.
Must have continuously held a valid in-state U.S. driver's license for at least the past 3 years without gaps.
Driving history must meet company requirements.
Clean driving record consistent with the requirements of the position.
Ability to meet applicable DOT medical requirements, including maintaining a valid Medical Examiner Certificate (MEC) when required.
Knowledge of proper vehicle loading, securement, and transportation procedures.
Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and respond appropriately to changing conditions.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to work on-site in the Los Angeles area.
Availability for varying schedules, overtime, and emergency recovery support as needed.
Driving Requirements
Candidates must meet established driving standards. Driving history within the previous 10 years will be reviewed and may include consideration of:
DUI or DWI history
Driving-related license suspensions
Serious at-fault accidents involving injury or death
Multiple moving violations
A motor vehicle record review will be required as part of the qualification process.
Compensation
$34.75 per hour
This is a full-time, on-site opportunity based in Los Angeles, CA.
