Flatbed Tow Truck Operator – Class C

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Flatbed Tow Truck Operator to support vehicle transportation and recovery operations in the San Francisco area.

This is a hands-on driving position responsible for safely transporting and recovering vehicles using flatbed or rollback towing equipment. The ideal candidate has previous towing, roadside recovery, or vehicle transport experience and a strong commitment to safety.

This position requires a valid Class C driver's license and the ability to meet applicable DOT medical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate flatbed or rollback towing equipment to transport and recover vehicles.

• Safely load, secure, transport, and unload vehicles.

• Respond to vehicle recovery and transportation requests throughout the assigned area.

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections.

• Follow DOT requirements and established safety procedures.

• Complete required transportation, inspection, and operational documentation.

• Communicate with dispatch, logistics teams, and field personnel regarding assignments and vehicle status.

• Evaluate roadside recovery situations and determine safe methods for loading and transporting vehicles.

• Maintain towing equipment and immediately report mechanical or safety concerns.

• Adapt to changing assignments, traffic conditions, weather, and operational priorities.

• Provide professional and dependable support during routine and time-sensitive recovery situations.

Qualifications

• Previous flatbed, rollback towing, vehicle recovery, or vehicle transport experience strongly preferred.

• Valid Class C driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Ability to meet applicable DOT medical requirements and maintain a valid Medical Examiner Certificate (MEC), as required.

• Knowledge of proper vehicle loading and securement procedures.

• Understanding of vehicle inspections and safe transportation practices.

• Strong situational awareness and commitment to safety.

• Comfortable working independently and responding to changing priorities.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work on-site in the San Francisco area.

• Availability for varying schedules, overtime, or emergency recovery support as needed.
